Something i planned to watch

six months ago i made this list of 50 films i wanted to see this year.
I've have a long way to go because i've only seen:

I loved Hanna and I Am Number Four. The rest was okay.
Your Highness was terrible. Even with Franco, Deschanel and Portman in it, i though it was a let down.

I didn't go to the museumnight after all, I stayed home instead with popcorn, chocolate milk and Brideshead Revisited on the BBC.
I learned that march fifth is also world book night, who would have though books had a night dedicated to them. They deserve a whole day, week or even a month if you ask me.

Funny how another Lykke Li song seems to find it's way in a new post but i find her new album 'Wounded Rhymes' marvellous.
Not that i though a follow up Lykke Li album could have been anything else than that.

Tiger time!

Tomorrow the city Rotterdam will roar again.


The International Film Festival Rotterdam will start and celebrate it's 40th anniversary!

I was counting on pay day to be that friday but alas it was not.
I wanted to see les amours imaginaires again but just like Black Swan, Never Let Me Go, Attenberg, 13 Assassins and Biutiful all the dates were already sold out before i could buy tickets.
Luckily i saw other films that sparked my interest and ended up buying tickets for the following :

A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh... you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. That's worse than school. Ferris: Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
I do have a test today, that wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car.

Catching up with missed cinema time

So i wanted to see 'J'ai tué ma mère' and 'A Single Man' Monday night after coming home from work and my first interview (part of the project i'm working on for the student thing i'm part of) i thought why not just go today!

I was wearing my Jeffrey Campbell 99's for the first time and had them on all day.
Gosh I did a hell of a lot walking that day so the sitting down part was also a bit of a present to my aching feet.

I left home racing around 19.00 because 'A Single Man' started 19.30 and 'J'ai tué ma mère' at 21.30 and i wanted to get a discount but still had to buy a discount card but all went well.

'A Single Man' was a film you could lose yourself in, i got chocked up a couple of times, it was simple but so beautiful.
Even Nicholas Hoult came across believable as your average American kid after a while, he hasn't got the Robert Pattison American but he pulled it of.




'J'ai tué ma mère' was less of a film i could lose myself in.
Maybe it was because i only slept 4 hours the night before but i seriously dozed off for a few minutes during the film.
I did like the story. I understood how he felt about his mother and his reasons.
Definably a must see again film!


It was an wonderful night alone at the cinema, must have been the arthouse thing.

Xavier Dolan wears a lot of stripes in Jái tue ma mere.
I like and understand his love for stripes so it not a bad thing, i just found it a bit funny seeing him in different scene's wearing stripes.

It's Tiger/cinema time again and i want to see some films this week!
But i have to hit the books because i got a lot of tests...so: Go luck!

For now i have the following films on my list:

A man oh gosh a man.

Tom Ford, the man that once was captain of The House of Gucci, YSL and after that started his own Fashion House has creating quite a buzz with his directing début.

Colin Firth playing the handsome charmer again!
I own the BBC serie of Pride Prejudice and fell in love with Mr. Darcy even with all his pride and after that i only saw Mr. Firth as the well spoken but a bit uptight British gentleman in films. Nice but this is very a nice change!

Also Nicholas Hoult Yaay!
His rol in 'About a Boy' was cute but a little bit annoying.
I started liking him after i saw how well he dried up in 'Skins'
('Skins' season four is starting again btw, only the season 3 cast is a little less screwed up then the season's 1+2 cast, really makes you feel like they could do better but i'm sure I'll still watch it)

A Single Man

Okay 'New Moon' wasn't good.
I spent the whole film talking to my bud Max via msn.
Sometimes about the film but only when i wanted to share how weird i thought a scene was.

I'm sorry but i wouldn't spend my money to see that film in the cinema.
I love the vampire myth, i might be taking it too serious, but c'mon that's not what Bram Stoker wrote about!

Okay enough about the above, now it's time for some good British humour!
And yeah his American accent is okay but yay no fake accent in this one!
Or a inner 'It's tearing me apart/giving me nightmares'
romance about people in lust for 130 minutes.
That and the weird storyline, darn that really became annoying.
Aha...enough tween tickle talk!
Go see the film if you like/understand British humour!

"wow the story line was more jacked up than Mily Cyrus's teeth..

..It was a like 80 minutes of Jacob don't leave me and Bella I want you, But Jacob your so sexy but it wont work. Man I thought Disney made such cheesy love stories but I would now take my chance with Disney. A movie about werewolves and Vampires and after two movies we only know about 4 cases where the creatures actually bit or killed someone. I see this franchise wheels coming off just like harry potthead. I mean they are making movies based on the success of the first one and just hoping people are dumb enough to use their experience of the first movie to sell tickets. A rip off and I'm glad I didnt pay to see the first or the second movie and if you ask me, movies about Vampires and Werewolves shouldn't be more that 5 minutes of love scenes cause when you mix over that time you run into a pointless movies about vampires and werewolves I mean why add vicious creatures if you dont let them be vicious. Next some idiot will do a love story between a zombie, a human, and a ninja turtle. 2/5 stars."

That was one person's opinion on 'New Moon' that made me lol.
Mind you i do like Miley!

So i'm feeling down and need some easy breezy tween flick and after watching 'Angus, thongs and perfect snoggin' i wanted to see some more easy tween films.

Check in later for my opinion.
I found the first Twilight film a bit weird.
Even Harry Potter and Narnia films aren't that weird, but i finished it and it left me feeling...yep a bit weird.
