I love The BBC Pride & Prejudice series, i own the dvd set and watch it at least once a year.
I first read the novel at school because it was a book i already knew about and i fell in love with the story.
A few summers later i stumbled upon the series in the television guide and started counting the days until it came on television.
The new film version was so disappointing, not even Kiera Knightley an actress whose's films i really like could make it better. Too little time was the problem with the film a shame but i have the series to fall back on.
Colin Firth is such a amazingly good charming actor, i absolutely understand why Helen Fielding named Her Mark Darcy after this Mister Darcy.

Stop buying clothes for a year
Jamie Woon - Night Air
If that's too long you can also sign up for 3, 6 or 9 months.
For more information check out the website: free fashion challenge
I'm tempted to sign up for this challenge, but because i feel that i don't have enough basic items i haven't join yet.
Yes excuses, excuses but i think i'm signing up for this sometime next week for 6 months. Three months doesn't really feel a challenge.
If that's too long you can also sign up for 3, 6 or 9 months.
So…our participants stop buying clothes for 1 year. But what does this actually mean?
Not buying any items of clothes or accessories (bags, shoes, belts etc.) for a year
This includes underwear & socks
Not buying any fabrics in order to make clothes
Do not accept any of the above as gifts
You can swap your clothing with others
So this means they can’t consume/buy anything new at all for one year… This is pretty strict, but we want our participants to totally stop consuming for one year. We know secondhand and organic clothing are of course not that bad for the environment as fast fashion is. We think it’s (a little…) like going on a holiday: afterwards you come back with the best ideas because you really had the time to take some distance from your daily routine! Plus this really challenges our participants to come up with creative solutions to keep looking fabulous!

Trimester 2
End of my second term, test time has come again!
Studying is priority number, meaning long nights of trying to learn and finish work.
My spirit dies a little every morning i go to bed during this time because of the trying part. I never really succeed.
I spent the weekend at my surrogate big sister babysitting and studying (actually studying instead of trying) when my cute little cousin went to bed.
Fake big sis always knows how to give me a reality check.
I love her and her husband for understanding and being there for me.
Now it's back to my books!
Finish each day & be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Learn from it, tomorrow is a new day.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thursday
I pomp that iron till the end of time...
Instead of working out, i'm placing the lyrics of this song into putting my time and energy in the sweatshop that is the school of higer education to be looking fine in your mind.
I've been listening to de Staat new album 'Machinery' and i am like it very much.
The above song and 'Ah i see' are the perfect roll out of bed and get stuff done songs.

Tiger time!
Tomorrow the city Rotterdam will roar again.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam will start and celebrate it's 40th anniversary!
I was counting on pay day to be that friday but alas it was not.
I wanted to see les amours imaginaires again but just like Black Swan, Never Let Me Go, Attenberg, 13 Assassins and Biutiful all the dates were already sold out before i could buy tickets.
Luckily i saw other films that sparked my interest and ended up buying tickets for the following :
Thursday
Fleurs du mal

"Paris-Tehran.
A rootless love story between Gecko, young and free, and Anahita, an Iranian in exile -- tangled up in History and steeped in Internet.
Anahita is obsessed by the current event in her country, and little by little their story is contaminated by History and its breathless mediatisation on the internet."
"...The film is born from the confrontation of these two individuals moved by their will of freedom. FLEURS DU MAL rebels. "
Love in a Puff

"Since 2007, the Hong Kong health authorities have implemented an anti-smoking law that bans people from smoking in all indoor areas, including offices, restaurants, bars, and karaoke lounges. Office smokers now have to take their cigarette breaks on the streets outside, which has led to groups of smokers from the same building bonding together in cliques known as "hot pot packs."
In an alley packed with loudmouth co-workers spreading the daily gossip, Jimmy, a mild-mannered advertising executive, meets cosmetics salesgirl Cherie. "
" As smoke gets in their eyes, one thing leads to another"
Saturday
Blue Valentine

The film centers on a contemporary married couple, charting their evolution over a span of years by cross-cutting between time periods.

IFFR 2011 Preview

A very crappy picture reminding me i really need a real camera, but i just felt like making and sharing it.
As special sneek peek for the International Film Festival Rotterdam that starts 10 days from now, the film i have been so eager to see has been selected to be shown in film theatres across the country two weeks before it's official opening.

Xavier Dolan was excellent in bringing across the feelings people experience when infatuated by another.
Les Amours Imaginaires is such a lovely film and i can't want to see it again.
I also can't wait to see the other films in the IFFR newspaper next friday, only ten days to go!

Saturday
The Ghost Who Walks
During the summer i was waiting for the bike repair man outside my flat and while waiting i was reading an interview Glamcult had with Karen Elson.
At one point Karen Elson talked about how the other children called her names when she was young because of her appearance and she kind of liked one particulate name.
The Ghost Who Walked also being one of the nicer name she got called.
I loved the way she looked and talked that made her came across as a different kind of model and told myself to go look for Karen Elson's album but the bike repair man showed up and forgot all about it.
Tonight i saw the Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2011 Womenswear video and i found the song that's being used in it is so warm and comfortable, I just had to look it up.

So now i have her album 'The Ghost Who Walks' and the rest of the songs are just as mesmerizing as 'Pretty Babies' and title track of the album.

A Top Notch Extravaganza SuperRauw Night
That probably isn't a good thing that would be labelled as 'fun' but you get the jist right.

It was a nice way of saying goodbye to 2010 especially because it was in my old town Amsterdam and it was my first night ever out with my little brother by my side.
Here's to more fun filled nights and mornings in the '11.
Wednesday
I've got the golden tickets to end 2010 with LOUD music
