Friday i got the chance to see The Drums,
a band i've had on repeat for a while now and couldn't wait to experience live.
I was standing in the 1.5 row infront of the stage and didn't even notice the fun at the back, but it was also fun where i was standing.
They're so much fun to see and so nice!
Hermine was there with big thanks to The Drums and got them a thank you gift so we looked if there were any Drums members around the merch table and we guess what, we found two The Drums members: Jacob (bass guitar) and Adam (guitar)!
They were so nice!
They signed the set list i managed to get and Jacob was all nice and chatty.
Good gig, good people oh yes i could end up loving The Drums .
Sunday
Thursday
This is the best night of my life, i hope this feeling never dies
Rostam has such a cute smile!
I think i have a crush on him after seeing that smile...
The last time i entered an almost empty Paradiso was for The Horrors in April '06.
The show was suppose to start at 20.00 but was pushed back an hour later and funny fact:
Dandi Wind were opening for The Horrors who's singer also happens to be the other main lady in Fan Death the opener for Vampire weekend.

My new favourite band!
They made me go back in time and search for some Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi show vids but arn't they just the cutest musical things ever?!

BSG, The Street Look
The last episode of British Style Genius was about the British Street Look.
Are you Ted, Mod, Skinhead or a Casual?
I like the mod look the most.

Wishlist #2
Two years ago Sascha had these gorgeous black jazz wedges but alas they were not for me to own.
Ever since i have been searching for the perfect black wedges or any lovely colour for the height boost and comfort.
I haven't seen any worth spending money on or luck just isn't on my side.
Minimarket - Wedge Zip Boot GARDE-ROBE

I love Necklaces.

Get well present...
I've been walking around with a flu since Christmas and it's killing my spirit:(
Just when i think i'm okay my eyes begin to burn and tear up and my throat begins to feel raspy, i'm seriously going to the doctor after work Monday.
Aah Monday, a step closter to payday:D
At the moment i really wan't another ring to keep my left hand looking pretty.

M.I.A. much
Yeah after the release of 'Good Girl Gone Bad' see wanted to proof she wasn't just another pop star but darn, this is different.
Doesn't the 'Rude Boy' video remind you a bit of M.I.A. video's with the whole Buffalo Girl style M.I.A. rocks so well and the brightness of the background?
Pitchfork uploaded a Diplo made mash were the obvious looks sounds a bit cooler.
But outfits aside, Rihanna is Barbadian and i once read+know Caribbean people like their bold and bright outfits...well it shows alright!
Monday
Celebrate Fashion!
The Glamour team went to different city's to spread the message of the super filled February issue in a way only they could think of!

and I Love Glamour NL for being exactly that!
British Style Genius
During the summer of 08' the BBC aired the serie British Style Genius.
The fact that they used These New Puritans' 'C. 16th +-' for the promo got my attention at first but then again it was a BBC program about fashion, what else could I do then watch.
When the first episode aired I heard Metronomy-On The Motorway being used for the intro and i knew that it wouldn't like it. Next to it being a BBC production of course!
I always loved clothing but i developed a syle and got to know about fashion with the help of ELLEgirl magazine when it launched in February '03 and sadly ended in November '08.
I never knew about Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design before i saw British Style Genius but after that i noticed the schools being mentioned in music or fashion magazines.
That sure did start my "Ooh wait a sec" reaction for a while.
To name a few Former Pulp front man Jarvis Cocker, Singer M.I.A., The Horror's front man Faris Badwan attended Central Saint Martins College.
Staying in the fashion corner Central Saint Martins College was also the school John Galliano, Hussein Chalayan, Alexander McQueen graduated from.

A gay vamp is not a 'tooth fairy'
From what i can remember it started with reading Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'
after that came the Paul van Loon (Dutch children's scary book writer) and his books about vamps and and other scary stuff.
Then came one story from 'The Horrific Association' (Don't know how to translation Griezel Genootschap very well) that always stayed in my head because i loved the spin they gave that story. To this day i tell people to think about it.
The story about Snow white's ever after.
The far far away forest was a right mess and the 7 dwarfs were Snow White's slave. Snow White came to live when the prince kissed her, but she was a living dead now.
The pale skin and red lips say enough right.
After that came the films and tv shows like:
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Buffy, the vampire slayer
Angel
Charmed (witches, vampires, they meet somewhere in the middle)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Van Helsing
Interview with a Vampire
Queen of the Damned
Blade
There is so much more i want to see and there is so much out there when it comes to Vampire genre.
As you can read in one of my older entries i didn't really like the two Twilight films.
After seeing a promo for the Vampire Diaries i can't be bothered watching it.
How many scripts about a brooding vampires in love could there be written?
Maybe i'll tune into True Blood once, but there are more then enough vamp related films to watch from the past so i'm good for now.

Can i confess these things to you?
Last night i was flicking past tv channels and stopped when i saw The XX and i was suprised to see the channel it was on.
TMF NL used to be a place to discover good music but now turned into a 'TH1S K3WL BUYZ NoW' station.
Most people only like the music on that channel because it looks good and not because it is good.
I really hope The XX will get good mainstream attention here and nothing like
"I love this ssong, but the band are so butterz. dissapoiontment."
I got the above from youtube, a reaction written under another XX song, pathetic.

This town is looking like a ghost town
I work at one of the biggest stores in the world and if you look at the hierarchy of the store i'm not that high, but if the people in blue weren't around you (yep you, i'm sure you've ever been to one of the many store in your area) wouldn't be able to sit on that couch or buy that pan and the matching pots.
But anyway i had to begin at 5AM and i was in a lazy mood so decided to stay at my place , which is a 30-40 minute bike ride, instead of going to my parents who live a 10 minute bike ride from work.
I only was afraid of scary people on the street but when i peeked outside, my goodness!
Fog everywhere and it was thick! As if the Flying Dutchmen sailed in to town or something.
It was also cold but fear kept me warm, so you can imagine how happy i was when i reached work save.
I'm never doing that again!..well i hope i'll never do that, i'm an impulsive girl
